Professional Background
My Performers Diploma from Sibleius Academy, Finland, is of Fellowship level. During my studies there, I also completed a two year Piano Pedagogy Module . In the UK, I completed a full time course at The Royal Northern (formerly Manchester) College of Music. My teachers also include Vlado Perlemuter and Gyorgy Sebok.
Professional Activities
I have had the honour of serving as the Warden for the Incorporate Society of Musicians Private Teachers’ Section. I have also been a long standing member of the European Piano Teachers Association (EPTA) UK Management Committee. I was on the Editorial Board of the piano version of The Common Approach (Faber Music, 2002), and have published numerous articles in professional journals.
A former Director, I have also been a longstanding principal Tutor on the EPTA Piano Teachers Course (PTC) and in that capacity I have conducted workshops at Leeds College of Music in the “Piano Teaching in the 21st Century” scheme. As a popular piano tutor at Benslow Music, I run courses twice a year. I also offer:
